  • City-State/political units made up of a city
  • Golden Age-a period in society history marked by great achievements
  • Athens/ A city-state in eastern Greece
  • Sparta- Athens rival city-state
  • Hellenistic- Greek like

DAILY LIFE IN ACIENT GREECE

  • Only men could be full citizens
  • Children were educated differently in each city-state

GREEK GODS & GODDESSES

  • There were gods and goddesses for almost everything, even wine!
  • The most widely known Greek Goddess was Athena!

ANCIENT OLYMPIC EVENTS

  • It was a 1-day event until 684 b.c. Then to 3 days then 5 days
  • One famous event was horse riding

PARTHENON

  • Its otherwise known as The "Acropolis of Athens"
  • It is one of the most famous surviving buildings in all of Ancient Greece's History.

FAMOUS GREEKS

  • There are many famous greek celebrities such as: Queen Sofia & Kostas Makonas
  • Most famous Greeks were rulers, warriors, or, Gods

GEOGRAPHY

  • Mostly covered in mountains and surronded by the Mediterranean Sea
  • It had more than 1400 islands and had long, dry summers

GOVERNMENT

  • They had Oligarchies when democracies didnt work.
  • In 510 B.C. Athens made the first democracy
