PRESENTATION OUTLINE

REASONS WHY I SHOULD TRANSFER

BY: TRISTAN BENNETT

REASON #1

  • I know more people that go to the school (most of the kids at the school attended St. Marks).
  • I would enjoy going to school
  • Marky Mark goes there as well :0

REASON #2

  • More convenient
  • Easy drive in the morning (drop off Trevor and on the way to work Madre can drop me off).
  • I can walk to Madre’s work after school ends as it is an easy walk or I will be driving by then.

REASON #3

  • It possesses the same level of education
  • The classes are virtually the same as WC with bigger class sizes. However, I don’t seek teacher’s assistance often because I am a good student.

REASON #4

  • Did you know that Whittier Christian costs 13,100$ per year?
  • Dad can buy 272 boxes of Titleist Pro v1 golf balls.
  • Mom could buy 935 bottles of Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay per year!
  • Guess what folks, the cost of public school is FREE.

REASON #5

  • A wider and more vast campus.
  • With this wider campus, I can meet new people along with the people I already know.

REASON #6

  • With the increased student population, it will better help me prepare for college.
  • The average amount of students in an American college is 6,365 versus Whittier Christian’s measly 350.
  • With the significant increase of student density, I will be able to socialize more and prepare mentally for college whereas Whittier Christian does not offer the same benefit.

REASON #6 CONT.

  • In Dave Bergmen’s article 𝑰𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝑨 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝑰𝒏 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝑨𝒅𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, he states that “The question of whether to send your child to a public or private school is one that only you can answer—every teen’s strengths and needs are unique and different children thrive in different environments. However, we do strongly believe that more parents of intelligent and talented young people should seriously weigh the public option against these more conventional pathways to highly-selective colleges.

REASON #7

  • I know what you guys are thinking: CREDITS!
  • According to the La Serna official website, I need: 3 years of math, 4 years of English, 4 years of History, 2 years of LOTE, 1 year of art, 3 years of science, and 2 years of PE.

REASON #7 CONT

  • Guess what? I have those requirements already met! (Well almost)
  • All I need left is to take the same classes I have at WC and for senior year I will need just 1 year of History and English. I can fill my schedule with ther classes as well.

REASON #8

  • This slide is for Mom (sorry Dad)
  • Mom you have many connections at La Serna.
  • If I ever get into any serious trouble (which I won’t), you have the ties necessary to keep watch.

CONCLUSION

  • In conclusion, the switching to La Serna will not only ensure a good education, but it will also ensure that I will have a better two years than the ones previous socially.

CONCLUSION CONT.

  • I know this presentation has made you guys cry (its ok, I know it was an emotional journey), but I truly hope you take these points into consideration and give it a second thought. Thank you and love you guys always.
