PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

The respiratory is the system in your body that allows you to breath. It involves your lungs, bronchiole tubes, trachea, alveoli, and your nose

Your body needs oxygen to
function. However, it can’t get that anywhere else but by breathing. So at first your nose takes in all the oxygen it can and sends it down your wind pipe.

It is able to do this thanks to your trachea. Your trachea is a flap in your throat that opens and closes. When you take in all the air the flap opens allowing all the oxygen to go into your lungs. It closes because if food going down your throat gets in your lungs you will die.

Next, all the air that you breath in goes into your lungs and splits into multiple little branches called bronchiole tubes. They are connected to...

ALVEOLI! Alveoli are small little sacks in your lungs that transfer all of the oxygen into your body. Then, it puts all the oxygen into your blood cells and it goes all over your body.

Then your diaphragm pushes up on your lungs and you exhale all of the wast gases in your body.

AND THAT IS THE RESPIRATORY SYSTYM!
