Humans sleep in stages.
The first four stages are slow brain wave sleep. The fifth stage is REM sleep
Five stages of sleep take around 90mins to complete. On a good night, human should complete 4-5cycles

- Randy Gardner, a 17 year old student went without sleep for 11 days
- During this time, became very angry and hallucinogenic;
- His analytical abilities, memory, perception and motivation were all comprimised
- Couldn't perform simple maths calculations
- After 264hrs without sleep, he slept for 14hr40mins
Have a routine
If you can't sleep, do something boring
Slow your breathing down and try to relax muscles
Turn off the lights
Get into a sleep pattern
Excersice for 30mins a day and focus on stress management
