Archimedes was a Greek mathematician. He is considered one of the great of all time

He discovered the accurate approximation of pi, created the system of exponentiation for expression of large numbers and explained the principle of the lever

HIS INVENTIONS

  • Archimedes principle
  • Archimedes screw
  • Claw of Archimedes
  • Heat Ray(using mirrors to reflect rays from the sun)

He discovered the volume of irregular when he got into his bath and the level of the water went up

He died during the siege of Syracuse. He was killed by a Roman soldier after he refused to go with him. His final words were to not damage the equations he had written on the ground

He had a sphere and a cylinder inscribed on his tomb to show his achievements
