PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Nebula- large amounts of gas and dust spread out in an immense volume.
Protostar- the star is born, contrasting gas and dust become so hot thar nuclear fusion stars.Enormous amounts of energy.
Main Sequence Star- nuclear fusion happens, 90% of the stars life, varies in mass.
Red Giant- formed when stars hydrogen fuel starts to run out, made mostly of hydrogen.
White Dwarf- outer layer of red giant floats into space leaving blue/white core about Earth's size, no fuel, glows faintly.
Black Dwarf- white dwarf stops glowing it becomes a black dwarf, last stage of star, star is dead.
Capella belongs to the spectral class G (Giant).
It's a yellow-orange giant
Capella is 2.5 times the suns mass
78.5 times the suns luminosity.
Capella is 4940 degrees K.
Capella is 9.2 times the suns diameter.
The Capella stars are 525 million years old.
Capella will likely go down the path of a red giant and eventually become a white and black dwarf.
