HISTORY

  • The American welding society has been around since 1919
  • This combining of metal was used for war, for planes and tanks.
  • Now we use welding for everything, from bridges to buildings.
  • Welders are typically famous people but the structures that they create are famous.

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION)

  • You need at least a high school degree/GED and either a bachelors degree or a apprentice ship program certification
  • The best way to seek this job is the apprenticeship because in most cases they will pay for your schooling

REQUIREMENTS (SKILLS)

  • You need to be willing to learn
  • Ready to learn new forms of this job
  • Good with working with others

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Everyday you will be expected to get the materials for the days job and finish it within the time given.
  • You may get more than one project a day
  • You will work about 8-12 hours a day with a minimum of 50 hours a week

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Work attire is jeans, boots, and a welding jacket.
  • The average salary is $35,000-$68,000.
  • Welder so are union workers

  • Disadvantages: you smell the fumes all day and that can affect your brain.
  • Perks: you cannot bring your work home with you, so your work life and family life never conflict.

  • The salary has increased by 17% in the last year and is expecting to continue
  • As of now there is a shortage of welder sand a very fast growing career.
  • Welding benefits the community because most of the newer building and structures are welded together.

  • This career is important to society because we can build stronger buildings and better transportation to reach the unbelievable.
  • This career would be very good for me, I would love the fact of not taking work home so I can focus on my family, this career is perfect for supporting a family.
