PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The Water Cycle

and how it works

Solar Radiation

  • Radiant energy emitted by the sun from a nuclear fusion reaction that creates electromagnetic energy
  • This is a crutal part of the water cycle

Evaporation

  • The process of turning water into vapor
  • This is caused by the sun heating the water and changing the liquid into a gas

Transpiration

  • Transpiration is the process where plants absorb water through the roots and then give off water vapor through pores in their leaves.
  • This is caused by Solar radiation

Condensation

  • Water that collects as droplets on a cold surface
  • This a product of evaporation this comes right after evaporation

Precipitation

  • Rain,Sleet,Snow,or Hail
  • The cause of this is condesation and gravity

Infiltration

  • Permeation of a liquid into something by filtration
  • This is caused by percipatation and gravity

Runoff

  • The draining away of water from the surface area of land, building, structure, etc
  • This is caused by Infiltration and gravity

Ground Water

  • Water held underground in the soil or in pores and crevices in rock.
  • This is caused by Runoffs and gravity
