MY FAMILIES TRANSPLANT.

  • In September 2000 my nan gave my mum a kidney.
  • A lot of test had to be done to see if my nan was a match.
  • This is called cross matching and tissue tipping and it was good news
  • Because she was an identical match.
  • Before the transplant she took Neoral to suppress the immune system

WHERE THEY PUT THE KIDNEY

  • The kidney was placed in the right hand side of her torsow
  • The kidney is attached to the urethra and then on to the bladder

HOW LONG IS MUMS KIDNEY MENT TO LAST

  • It's suggested time is about 20 years because of the match
