What is your purpose?

#2 on Google Classroom
Less than half of you finished this assignment, so we will do it together now.

If you did finish it, take this time to look through any comments that I've left for you. If you finish that, you can move on to Assignment #3.

What do you already know?

Find this section is Assignment #2. You can type in there, or write down on a sheet of paper- what do you already know about this topic? (Without googling anything!)

“Problems are the gifts that make us dig out and figure out who we are, what we’re made for, and what we’re responsible to give back to life.”
- Tony Robbins

People are not problems.
People are affected by problems.

Finish the worksheet

  • Who is affected by the problem?
  • Where is it occurring?
  • Who can you talk to about it?

What do you wonder?

Everyone now!
What do you wonder about your P3 topic? You just thought of everything you know about it. Now think of at least one thing you still want to know.

Breakout Groups

You will be placed into a group of about 3 students. These are random, so don't be alarmed if 5th graders are with 8th graders, etc.

If someone isn't participating, feel free to come back to the main group and I'll put you somewhere else!

Breakout Group Instructions

  • Each person shares their P3 topic with the group.
  • Each person shares one thing they wonder about their own P3 topic.
  • Each person shares one thing they wonder about the other P3 topics.
  • Discuss how you might change your project.
These are posted to Google Classroom as well. I will also send them out to the groups as you are in them.

Is your idea too big?

Consider narrowing down your project.

Is your idea too narrow?

Consider expanding your project.

In the next few weeks, think about how you might change your project, if needed.

Assignment #3

Learning Goals and Assessment
ONLY AFTER you finish #2, move on to Assignment #3.

How do we grade P3?

Show the rubric and explain self-evaluations.

Groups

If you are working with a group of people, we will make sure you have a way to connect with them.

I might email you instructions, which reminds me....
