Life and Dignity of the Human Person

This Catholic Social Teaching means that human life is sacred. This teaching also means that all life matters. To demonstrate that all life is scared we can respect others and think of others as equals.
Genesis 1:26-31 "God created man and women in his image."

Call to Family, Community, and Participation

This Catholic Social teaching means people have the right and duty to participate in society. To participate we have to work for the common good and well-being of everyone. In addition, we have a duty to helping our community. For example, we have to serve others who are in need. 1 John 3:16-18 "We ought to lay down our lives for one another."

Rights and Responsibilities

This Catholic Social Teaching means everyone has the right to life. Additionally, everyone has the right to whatever they need to survive. As Catholics we have to protects these rights as well as respecting it.

Option for the Poor and Vulnerable

This Catholic Teaching means that we have to put the needs of the poor first. In addition this teaching explains that we must love others, but we must love the poor more. To show your love to the poor we can provide and give justice to the poor. Sirach 4:1-10 "Don't delay giving to those in need."

The Dignity of Work and the Rights of the Workers

This Catholic Social Teaching means that work must be fair. It also teaches that workers must be treated fairly. For example workers must have good working conditions and have fair pay. Deuteronomy 5:13-15 "The Sabbath is for everyone-all are allowed to rest from their work."

Solidarity

This Catholic Teaching means that everyone is united under God. Additionally, the center of solidarity is the pursuit of justice and peace. As a united family under God we must work together to serve and work for God. Psalms 72: "Living in right relationship with others brings peace."

Care for Creation

This Catholic Social Teaching means that we are obligated to protect and care for the Earth. Additionally, as Catholics we are to clean the Earth because it is God's gift to us. Some ways we can help God's Earth is by not littering and polluting the Earth. Romans 1:20 "Creation reveals the nature of God."
