THE GREAT COMPRIMISE

COMPROMISE:

An agreement or settlement to make two different groups happy.

THE CONVENTION

  • They had a convention and it started in 1787
  • Six groups were not represented
  • They people were Women, Native Americans, Africans, Rhode Island, Indians, and Patrick Henry.

THE GREAT COMPRIMISE

  • We wanted to write a constitution

The Great compromise was when we wanted to change the Declaration of Independence, so we came up with the idea of writing the constitution. One side of the government agreed, but the other side didn't want to change it, so we came up with the Great Comprimise. Both large and small states wanted it, and it would define the government.
