Gwinnett Environmental Heritage Center

  • Location: 2020 Clean Water Dr., Buford GA
  • 15.6 miles (from Radloff)
  • 22 minute drive
  • School County buses will be used

Educational Purposes

  • Physical Science- helps us understand more about our surroundings t
  • Technology- how it contributes to the environment and the world around us)
  • History- How life was back then before GEHC (Gwinnett Environmental Heritage Center) was even created

Policies

  • The Waiver must be completed and turned in to your designated teacher by the end of February
  • Closed toed shoes
  • Outdoor gear/clothes
  • You may want to bring money for the Gift Shop
  • Money will also be due by the end of February

  • If rains or inclement weather occurs, the other options are on the18th of march and the other date is on the 15th of April

Budget/Cost

  • Cost for each student will be $52(not including school funds)
  • The cost for each Chaperone is $59(excluding school funds)
  • Transportation will cost $189.09
  • Food will be $6 person student and will be included in the budget
  • It will cost in total $7,332

Date of Trip

  • Saturday, March 11th,2017
  • March 25th in case of rain/inclement weather
  • April 15th if an anomaly occurs during/before the second date
  • Also make sure you arrive at school by 8:30

Food

  • The food is included in admission/ticket cost, but the food will not come from GEHC, but from a restaurant near it to delivery it to us(Subway)
  • The cost per student for food is $6-$7, as I said before it will be added to the admission/ticket cost so you don't have to bring any money for food

Fun Elements

  • You will enjoy how the environment really feels, in a comfortable, nice setting to view
  • You will have an activity in which enables you to be one with nature as you glide through obstacle courses, zip lining, climbing, and sidestepping your way through

  • Not only with you learn how technology has changed over the years, but you will also learn how much nature can do to benefit our future
  • You will also learn the significance of water and how it can affect the community as well as the envionment

Itinerary

  • 9:55am We arrive at GEHC
  • 10:00am We register in
  • 10:10am One group goes to Treetop Quest while other goes for the GEHC tour
  • 12:10pm Lunch Time- We will provide the food you payed for through your admission/ticket cost

Intinerary continued...

  • 12:30pm Both groups switch activities
  • 2:15pm We all meet at GEHC, and at this time you may go to their gift shop
  • 2:30pm We head on back
  • 3:00pm We arrive back at Radloff and wait to get picked up
