I chose this essential e question because I believe that this topic of love growing in difficult circumstances can help everyone and especially in todays world. Typically when things get hard people only care about themselves and if they will be okay but when you love someone and things get hard between you two it is both of your jobs to communicate, support each other, and stick it out because in the end it will all be worth it. The love, relationship, and trust between you two will grow stronger than ever and they may become a life long friend. This reminds me of my book because Henry and Catherine spent a lot of time away from each other, they also went through a lot. From Henrys legs getting blown up to Catherine being pregnant, to them having to leave eachother for war or work. The two went through a lot but supported eachother along the way and this id why I think they were in a healthy relationship.

I chose this source because I believe that it fits with my essential equation and the ideas that portrays. This source points out the key points of keeping a relationship healthy during difficult times. In A Farewell To Arms, Henry and Catherine’s relationship is not always perfect. Times get tough for everyone but the key factors that keep them together are communication, appreciation, and teamwork. During the war it is hard to see each other, therefore Henry made time for Catherine and would drove to her. “Being truly present in another person’s life means involving yourself in their hopes and dreams, and taking time to notice and compliment their accomplishments.”(14) Though neither of them liked talking about war or being in the war, they still worked to together

I think that my book and my source resignate with each other because my book is about how to keep a healthy relationship during difficult circumstances. Henry is very good at taking care of Catherine. Though he is an ambulance driver on the Italian front, he will fight with everything in his power to see catherine when he miss her or whenever they can. Henry and Catherine are very supportive of each other, Henry completely supports Catherine, but sometimes she worries to much because war is very dangerous and she truly cares about Henry.
