ORGANISM

  • Latin name:Trochilidae

WHERE HUMMINGBIRDS LIVE!

  • Most of them live in South America

ADAPTATIONS

  • Their long thin beaks make it easy to probe into the throats of flowers for food
  • Hummingbird tails have fewer tail feathers (10) than most birds have (12). This reduces the hummer's weight
  • ^to save energy when flying
  • Their wings are narrow and tapered, allowing them to beat fast and furiously for many hours at a time.
  • they have the largest heart for their body size of any animals.
