MIND COOKING FOOD

  • Don't leave food cooking while with out watching it
  • Leaving food unattended is the cause to main fires that start

KEEP APPLIANCES CLEAN

  • Always make sure the oven and cooktop are clean
  • Grease and food left on surfaces can cause fires to start

KEEP POT HANDLES INWARD

  • They must stick out so the pot handle doesn't burn
  • Be sure not over gas flame or hot heating element

USE A POT HOLDER

  • Make sure the pot holder is dry
  • Wet pot holders can cause steam burns

WEAR PROPER CLOTHING

  • Avoid wearing jewelry and loose clothing could catch on fire or could get tangled on cooking handle

KEEP FLAMMABLES AWAY FROM RANGE

  • Keep curtains,paper, cookbooks, towels away from fire range

USE UTENSILS PROPERLY

  • Use utensils properly so food doesn't spill or tip over
  • And use thongs to move hot food

OPEN COVERS CAREFULLY

  • Move the cover by titling it away from you so the steam doesn't go into your face

FRY FOODS WITH CAUTION

  • Dry foods before going into fat or else the water will pop and spatter
  • Cover it with a frying screen or skillet to keep fat in pan

USE COOKWARE PROPERLY

  • Don't put oven proof glass dishes on hot burners
  • If you put oven proof glass on burners glass will break and shatter all over

TAKING FOOD OUT OF OVEN

  • Use pot holder or oven mitt to take out hot foods
  • If you don't take food out with mitt or pot holder you will get burnt

TURN OFF STOVE OR OVEN WHEN DONE

  • If you don't turn off stove or oven it could lead to a fire in your house so turn it off when not using it
