PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Jacques Cousteau, was the one really started the evolution of oceanography. He was a filmmaker, inventor, author and conservationist. He was so crazy about exploring underwater caves.
Jacques Cousteau almost died in a car crash before he made the greatest underwater invention. The underwater camera and some scuba gear called the aqualung. He also invented the shark proof cage. He also made basically submarines that could sustain several people for about a month.
Jacques Cousteau wasn’t all good though. He once blew up a reef to get better footage, and he killed sharks as revenge for eating a baby whale.
Though he evolved. He began working with real scientists aboard the Calypso ( which was his ship).
Sadly he died on June 25 1997.
John Murray was the first to publish his findings. He was British oceanographer, marine biologist. We consider him to be the founder of modern oceanography.
