2.
2ND INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
Around 1870 started the 2nd industrial revolution.
Their belief in progress was the material growth created by the 2IR.
Electricity was a major factor built in the 2IR.
Industrial production grew as sales of manufactured goods increased.
2 new classes were formed; the working class and the middle class.
3.
SHOCKING NEWS
Many inventions we still use to this day were made in just 40 years such as telephone, clocks, bicycles, electric lights etc.
Many classes/ groups of people were formed based on status and belief like the bourgeoisie, proletariat etc.
In the 1912 election the socialist group became the biggest single party in Germany.
The socialist brought with them unions which were to protect the working force from the government.
4.
SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF 2IR
"Wealthy elite" included top 5% of the general population.
The upper middle class contained lawyers, doctors, members of CS, managers, etc.
The lower middle class contained shop keepers, traders, and prosperous peasants.
Beneath this was the white collar workers between LMC and LC they werent well paid and had idelas of MC.
Then the working class and they believed women should stay home and had to earn money by helping fam.
5.
MOST INNOVATIVE
I believe the most innovative thing would be e railroads.
These helped transfer large amount of coal between factories.
This made transportation much easier for workers to move large things.
