Josh is a really good baseball player, that gets hit in the face. He hits a lot of dingers, and refuses to sit out when he is hurt.

Benji
Benji and Josh are best friends. He thinks that Jaden likes Josh. I think he is bigger because he always has to have a hot dog in his hand.

Jaden
Jaden is a reporter for the newspaper. She thinks she knows all of the stats. She also likes to hang out with Mickey Mullen.

My personal connection with Josh is that we both like baseball, with both play shortstop, and that we both get hurt.

I visualized Josh getting hit in the head. Then getting up refusing to take his base, and switching to left hand, and hitting a dinger.

The theme of this book is to not let anything take you down. I think this because Josh didn't let that pitch take him down.

I think the author's tone in this book is furious, and excited. I think this because it sounded like Josh's dad was really mad when Josh got hit in the face, because he thought that the pitcher did it on purpose, and he did, but the umpire just said that he was throwing crazy all game.

Mood
I felt bad for Josh, because he was so good that the pitcher tried to eliminate him by hitting him in the head.

Evidence

Plot

Summary
Josh is the average baseball player. It isn't even surprising to people when he hits multiple homers in a game. Josh gets eliminated by getting hit in the face. He has to wear a face mask. Josh and Benji got in trouble at the Hall of Fame baseball place, because they wanted to see Hammerin Hank, and the Babe statue, because they were having a Mickey Mullen interview. Jaden bails them out. Then Josh's baseball team ..... the championship.
