STUDENT LED CONFERENCE

Introduction!
Welcome to the first student led conference of the year!! 👏🏻👏🏻 Today I will be talking to you about what I have learnt so far and just the basics things!

ENGLISH

ENGLISH

• Writing Goal:to include better vocabulary and to intrigue the reader more
• Reading Goal:To ask when I'm not sure of vocabulary
• In writing we have been doing quick writes and have been focusing on sizzling starts as well as persuasive writing
• In reading we have been reading "the year my life broke" and using different skills to understand our reading better.

MATHS

MATHS

• Maths goal: be able to get better/learn the 6.5 area in number and algebra and get those questions correct.
• In our mentor groups we're focusing on time :)
• In the extended maths group we're looking at area & perimeter,scientific notation and other things that is around the 6.5 level

HHaSS

HHaSS

• HHaSS goal: to get a better understanding of the subject as its my first time doing it!
• In HHaSS we are focusing on health and how to live a healthy life.

SWPBS

SWPBS

• SWPBS Goal: my goal is to get better at outcomes and working hard. Also to make sure that we are positive role models ALL the time
• SWPBS is our behaviour expectations. There are 4 core values. C-Collaboration,O-Outcomes,R-Respect and E for equity.

ASPIRE

ASPIRE PROGRAM

• As you know I go to Deakin University and learn new things. The first four weeks we did nursing which included learning about pulses, learning how to wash our hands properly, a Question & Answer session with different nurses and many other things.
• Last week we started looking at forensics and we got to solve a pretend murder. There were different rooms and we had to try and look at all the evidence to find out what happened at the crime scene

• Career goal:my career goal is to go to university and study something in the area of international studies

SCIENCE

SCIENCE

• In science we are doing forensics. We have learnt about footprints,DNA,fingerprints and handprints. We are also learning how to write a hypothesis

ART

ART

• The first week in art we were drawing chibi style characters.
• In the third week we started drawing and colouring our name labels.
• In the forth week we drew ice creams and learnt about tinting and toning (?)
• In the fifth week we drew the brain in art.

SPORT

SPORT

• In sport we have been training for the athletics carnival as well during grade 6 sport. We have been learning how to do javelin,shotput,relay and many others

ICT

ICT

• In ICT we're learning about digital citizenship and how to be a good digital citizen. We also have been learning about our digital footprint and the effects of having a bad digital footprint and a good digital footprint.

WOODWORK

WOODWORK

• In woodwork the grade 6's made a tool box,the year 7's made a magazine rack and the year 8's made a stool.

HEALTH

HEALTH

• In grade 6 health we are learning how to have a good health. We are also looking at the healthy foods and exercise.
