HE WAS NEVER A PRESIDENT, INSTEAD FAMOUS IN MANY OTHER WAYS

SCIENCE

  • Firstly, Benjamin invented the 'Franklin Stove'
  • Next on the list, he also invented bifocal glasses
  • He made the first maps of the Gulf Stream
  • Lastly, he proved that lightening was a form of electricity

WRITING

  • Benjamin was already writing articles for his brother, James', newspaper , when he was only 15
  • He also went to Philadelphia, then to London, just to finish his training as becoming a printer

LITERATURE

  • Benjamin took over a newspaper called the Pennsylvania Gazette
  • He also wrote Poor Richard's Almanac

POLITICS

  • Firstly, Benjamin was one of five members who drafted the Declaration of Independence
  • Next on the list, he went to France at the start of the Revolutionary War to get support from the French for America
  • In 1783, he helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris with England
  • Lastly, he served in the Constitutional Convention where the U.S. Constitution was drafted
