• The prayer leader is called an Iman
• People stand together, with men and women separated

Zakat

• Share 2.5% of excess wealth
• To help people control greed
• It can be given to a religious official or done by self to donate
• Helps benefit society by providing funding for schools
• Encouraged to donate more

SAWM

• Fast from daylight to sunset
• Sick, young, elderly don’t have to participate
• Don’t eat or drink
• During Ramadan because its when Mohammad was given his message
• Promotes charity and equality

• People circle the Ka’bah 7 times
• Men shave their head
• Sleep in tents
• Change into white clothing
