PRESENTATION OUTLINE
A hero is someone that does something out of the ordinary to help someone without thinking of anything other than helping someone in trouble without any rewards or acknowlegment to go along with it. Someone that stands out as kind humble and considerate of all others.
73% of all firefighters are volunteers. They do get compensated but very little and it's not a full time job. Most work other jobs and still respond to calls therefore it's not so much about making the money to do their job as you might think.
Most of the time firefighters aren't called into action but when they are they are willing to go places everyone else is running from. They act in total disregard for their own lives to save others they may not even know. When they know someone may be trapped and there is a chance of death they will do whatever it takes to get them out no matter what the outcome maybe or how grim the situation is.
Firefighters are very unselfish risking their lives for others and that is what makes them heroes and why they are so important to society.
