Phase #1 - Full Moon
This is a picture of a full moon. A full moon is when the whole disc is showing. Full moons also put more light in the sky.

Phase #2 - Waxing Gibbous
A waxing gibbous moon is when there is just a little bit more than half of the moon showing, so it is like a full moon with a tiny bit covered.

Phase #3 - First Quarter Moon
A first quarter moon is when there is only half of the moon showing. Kind of like when you leave my little sister with a cookie, when you come back only half of the cookie is there.

The new moon rises when the sun rises and sets when the sun sets. It moves around the sky during the day.
