IN MITOSIS DNA IS DISTRIBUTED INTO THE DAUGHTER CELLS

• The chromatin begins to condense and coil.
• Under a Microscope the Chromatin looks like tiny rods.
• Since the DNA reproduced each rod has doubled.
• Each is an exact replica called chromatid.
• The strands are held together by centromere.
