What category of pathogen is Chicken pox? (bacteria, virus, etc.)
Chicken pox is a virus that forms red spots on your body.
How does chicken pox get into the body?
It is spread by droplets from a sneeze or cough, or by contact with the clothing, bed linens or oozing blisters of an infected person.
What does it do to the body? (symptoms)
Chickenpox appears as a very itchy rash that spreads from the torso to the neck, face and limbs. Lasting seven to 10 days.
What treatment is available for people who get it?
The best solution is to get the chicken pox vaccine to prevent it. If people have it at home the best thing to do is keep calamine lotion on the rash.
What can you do to protect yourself from getting it?
The best thing to do is to get the chicken pox vaccine.
What happens after chicken pox?
After a person gets the chicken pox the virus Shingles is already inside of you. It come from the same virus of varicella. But this virus of shingles is a much bigger rash than chicken pox.
Shingles:
Shingles is less contagious than chicken pox and cannot be passed from person to person. However, the varicella zoster virus can be spread from a person with shingles to someone who has never had chicken pox.
