Kawaii means "lovable", "cute", or "adorable"
It has become a prominent aspect of Japanese popular culture, entertainment, clothing, food, toys, personal appearance, and behavior. They wear oversized clothing, ruffled socks, & hair decorations. This Japanese fashion craze has made it to the United States.
It is used in costume play or "Cosplay". These Kawaii girls look like a porcelain doll and strive to look cute, innocent, and beautiful. They wear lace, ribbons, bows, ruffles, bloomers, aprons, and ruffled petticoats and carry parasols. Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton's 2007 SS collection captured this look perfectly.
