Origins
Singlish started 50 years ago when Singapore gained independance. They decided English would be the common language.

Cantonese affects the structure in which sentences are built
Malay
malay introduces words into the language and also affects structure
slang
being a low economic class language, english & 'aussie' slang are used
examples:
if someone asks you for a meal, but you´ve already had dinner yo say:" already eat"
