Using tablets in the classroom does not need to be a circus sideshow. This slideshow illustrates a workshop I will present on October 21 about tablets and language learning.

NEEDS

THERE ARE MANY...
Needs in the language classroom... (1st and 2nd)

Teacher needs: managing so many learners' needs to talk and practice communicating.

Learners needs: to talk, talk, talk! Some will talk no matter what. Some won't...seemingly no matter what...

Tablets can help with many of these needs.

THE TRUTH ABOUT STORIES...

...IS THAT THAT'S ALL WE ARE.
The more we can tap into our innate ability to tell stories, the more we can ensure that learning happens.

The quote is from Thomas King.

BARE BONES

Rich learning situations are possible using a tablet's native functionalities. In particular when using the audio or video features.

Practicing using language. Listening. Speaking. Listening. Speaking. An iterative process.

NO WORRIES!
