  • Puerto Rico has always been home of many urban legends and stories of paranormal activity. Around the island, there have been numerous reports, from ghostly apparitions on the highway like the famous Chupacabras attacks. The north area of the island is where most of these paranormal activities are reported, including UFO sightings.

  • One of the most intriguing stories to Puerto Ricans is the one which takes place in a tourist spot know as The Guajataca Tunnel, at the north of the island. People who have visited this place claimed to have felt strange feelings and visions across the tunnel from east to west. In this place, where people go to see the beauty of the sea, they reported to have had experiences that could be related to the paranormal.

  • They heard voices and screams of people echoed throughout the tunnel. In addition of seeing visions of people waking and disappearing in midair, especially a small child that sometimes can be heard calling to his grandfather. Even many were startled by the sound of a passing train whistle, when there are no trains in the area. But not anymore!

  • Historians think that an unfortunate event happened in the western side of the tunnel. As the story goes, on November 7 of 1944 a serious accident occurred when the train derailed and many of its passengers died, just before the west entrance of this tunnel. After that accident, the railroad industry on the island went into decline until the trains disappeared.
