PRESENTATION OUTLINE

AWARENESS

  • What does research say about the impact of awareness on leadership?
  • What does awareness look like? Provide real-life examples/anecdotes to support your research.
  • How can a leader become more aware of situations, behaviors, personality types, etc.?
  • What does research say about the difference between being aware vs. micro-managing a situation?
  • Discuss a time when you experienced the benefits of being aware in a group situation.

1. Being a leader can consciously influence the situation and the potential conditions of the group.
Knowing all the details required to accomplish a specific task leads to being a good leader.
To be an affective leader study and learn about your best leadership tool.

2. Awareness is your ability to observe without needing thoughts.
Such as like when you see something that is wrong and recognize that.
Ex. You just took a really hard test and did poorly on it and are really angry and upset. But instead of letting your thoughts fixate on it you realize that it was just a test. Your going to have to take many more and life will go on

3.To become more aware, we need to learn more about ourselves in areas such as our values, emotions, personality, needs, and our habits.
Than, watch and learn from your decisions.
And not just your self, but others around as well.
Learn what your so called, "super powers" and "kryptonite" may be.

4.Micro-managing and being aware are very different in a productive work environment. Any project is made or broken by the people working on it, so if the leader doesn't allow others to voice their ideas and do they're job then that project is doomed to fail. Where as being an aware leader allows your workers to do they're jobs the way they think is best with you checking in on them for progress reports and to see if there's anything you can do

5. In baseball when the runner has a bigger lead you have to be aware of it because if your not then he'll steal the bag. Or be aware what kind of hitter is up to the plate. It helps you be more prepared and able to get the job done by being aware
