  • Light travels through the air as waves
  • The waves are then collected by the eye

  • First stop: Cornea (protective covering)
  • Into the black hole: Pupil (entry way to the eye)

LENS AND RETINA

  • Bending light: Lens (focuses light onto back of eye)
  • Converting the wave: Retina (transforms light into electric message)

  • Quantity: Rods (responds to intensity of light)
  • Quality: Cones (responds to quality of light [color])
