Personalized Learning

By: Ruth Santamaria

What is it?

  • "Personalized learning, or personalization, refers to a diverse variety of educational programs, learning experiences, instructional approaches, and academic-support strategies that are intended to address the distinct learning needs, interests, aspirations, or cultural backgrounds of individual students" (Education Reform)

How it's applied

  • The main focus is to be able to meet the need of diverse communities and teachers need to be able to educate according to the needs of children.
  • It deals with the idea of educating the student at their own level and with a style they learn the best.
  • turns the teachers into guiders and facillitators rather than lecturers.

The Benefits

  • With this students will be able to engage and be active in their education.
  • It gives students an independent approach towards their learning and helps them seek better undersatnding

Who keeps track?
With this students and teachers work hand in hand keeping track of the progress made and therefore acknowledge the change and positive feedback.

he 21st Century and Technology

  • -With this new era technology has become more popular and we need to use this to our advantage.
  • -With more technology students have resources available to them, that will help understand a concept better.
  • -"And technology, in the view of many, offers a powerful tool for achieving that goal. They point to the myriad digital devices, software, and learning platforms offering educators a once-unimaginable array of options for tailoring lessons to students' needs—and for collecting data on each student's individual performance" (Edweek)

What do you think of Personalized Learning?

Is it goor? Or Bad?

My view

  • In my opinion personalized learning is something that everyone should consider because of the great benefits for the student.
  • In my opinion it makes the students more independent and it gives them a lead role in their education, therefore helping them seek resources.
  • In addition it prepares them for a higher education in which they need to be on their own to study and do homework.
  • Not everyone is the same and every student has a different way of learning and with this personalized learning every student is getting the help they need to learn and engage in their education.

How can we incorporate Personalized learning in the classroom?
