  • Frequent bone fractures
  • Bone Pain
  • Short Stature
  • Hearing loss
  • Scoliosis
  • Bruising
  • Stiffness

DIAGNOSES/TREATMENT

  • Diagnosed by Ruling out, Observation and Genetic Testing
  • Treatment is medicine, physical therapy, and Surgery

WHO GETS THE DISEASE

  • People carrying a defective gene.
  • Some cases have an unknown cause

FACTS

  • Less then 20,000 people are diagnosed per year
  • There are at least 8 types confirmed and research is still ongoing
  • Some types may lead to fatal respiratory complications
  • The Mutation causes less collagen, a protein important for bones and skin.
