  • Resume: a brief written account of personal, educational, and professional qualifications and experience, as that prepared by an applicant for a job.

A Good Resume Has:

  • Accurate information.
  • Has a clear and neat layout.
  • No grammatical/spelling errors.
  • Is written with formal descriptive vocabulary.
  • References on a separate page.

Cover Letter

  • Cover letters follow a resume with a more thoroughly worded description.

A Good Cover Letter Has:

  • Good grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Formal vocabulary.
  • Your current contact information.

Thank You Letter

  • Follows your resume and cover letter to show appreciation of consideration.

  • Appear confident, not cocky.
  • Watch the words you use.
  • Be careful who you talk about and how you talk about them.
  • Do your homework.
  • If you get nervous, then take a deep breath and try again.
