What are the three states of matter?
Liquid's particles move fast but have a fixed volume.
Gas's particles move very quickly and don't have a fixed volume.
Solid's particles wiggle, but stay in place.
Changes in matter- melting point
This an ice cube at its melting point. The melting point for ice is above 0 degrees Celsius or 32 degreesFahrenheit.
Changes in matter- freezing point
This is water at its freezing point. Water's freezing point is below 0 degrees Celsius, or 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
Changes in matter- boiling point
This water is at its boiling point. Water's boiling point is 100 degrees Celsius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit.
Evaporation is when the fastest particles on the surface are heated and rise into the air as a gas.
Sublimation is when a solid changes directly to a gas. This dry ice changes to a gas at room temperature.
