How did the exposition affect the plot?
———————————
The exposition ended very quickly. It started out with a werewolf attacking a character and then all of a sudden fighting zombies on a boat. This quick start showed that MHI was not an easy business to get into.
———————————
"MHI's a private organization." (Corriea 28).
How did the rising action affect the plot?
———————————
Since this book is about fighting monsters, the reader has to know what each character's personality is, not only while interacting with other people but while in combat. The zombie boat battle was used for showing the reader how a character reacts in battle.
————————
"I could not help but feel an ominous shiver when I looked at the otherwise normal looking ship." (Correia 133).
How does the climax affect the plot?
———————————
This part of the story shows the ultimate fight of the book. The battle between good and evil.
———————
"We broke to prepare for our assault on the Old Ones." (Correia 596)
How did the falling action affect the plot?
———————————
The falling action shows all the surviving monster hunters patching themselves and others up. Some hunters were traumatized from what they saw and others were wounded terribly. This part of the book was necessary in order to tell how terrible a battle really is.
————————
"The worst injured had been evacuated to the nearest hospital." (Correia 693)
How did the resolution affect the plot?
———————————
Every story has to have a good ending, right? As like most endings, after they beat the bad guy, the people were safe, the hero got the girl, and everybody lived happily ever after. (yay)
————————
"I would wear the green patch with pride." (Correia 706)
Theme
——————
Evil never wins.
The monster hunters were so unequipped it looked like they were never going to win, but they won anyways.
