Ministry Apprenticeship

• Sometime freshman or sophomore year complete 5 "hours"
• If retreat requirement completed, sophomores "exempt" (If not, choose one or other)
• If already a server or in choir, complete short reflection/sign off

Getting Started

• Choose Ministry
• Complete & turn in "Interest Form"
• Connect with Ministry Contact
• Begin "training"

Choir

• Sing at Mass every Sunday
• Weekly rehearsal (Wed. from 7:00-9:00)

Usher

• Lots of varied duties: greet, take up collections, hand out hymnals & bulletins & more!
• 2-4 sessions of "on the job" training at Mass

Church environment

• Set up flowers, altar cloths, banners, other liturgical items based on liturgical season
• Training time on the job
• "Behind the scenes" usually Sunday afternoons based on liturgical seasons (varies)

Lector

• Proclaim Scripture (1st & 2nd reading); petitions, announcements
• Short training/rehearsal

Human concerns projects

• Various projects throughout the year: Baby bottle; Reverse Collection; Souper Bowl and others
• On the job training!

Child Ministry summer program

• Catechist aides for summer school & mini camp
• Various shifts available; 1-2 hours training (may want a longer commitment than 5 hours)
