Story Pitch: tinder

According to data available on Tinder's website, SDSU is listed as #14 out of 50 Universities to have the most right swipes for women.

Story Idea

• Compare how female and male students at SDSU use Tinder.
• I would be comparing their swipe habits, reasons for having the app and what they hope to achieve from the app.
• I would also like to show why some female/male students choose not to use Tinder.

Out of the 10 girls I spoke with only two of them have active accounts. All girls said they used it as a social media. Only one went on dates with guys she met.

Nine out of the ten guys I interviewed have active accounts on Tinder. All of them said it's an easy way to meet girls. Half of them have gone on dates and more than half have used the app for hooking up with new girls.

It can give students an inside look at what dating life is like at SDSU thanks to the digital world. SDSU is such a large campus and it can be difficult to connect with people sometimes so maybe students look to Tinder to find an easier way to connect.
