WHAT IS STOP?
STOP is a series of steps a person can take when they are faced with a difficult decision.

S.T.O.P. SIGN STEPS

  • S; Search out the facts
  • T; Think of the consequences
  • O; Consult Others, especially a nun or a priest
  • P; Pray to God for guidance

WHAT ARE DRUGS

  • Definition: A substance that causes a physiological effect when ingested
  • Marijuana, Mushrooms, Cocaine, and Ecstasy are just a few examples of illegal drugs

WHAT THE CATHOLIC CURCH SAYS ABOUT DRUGS

  • Drugs violate the Fifth Commandment; "Thou shall not kill"
  • "2291 The use of drugs inflicts very grave damage on human health and life. Their use, except on strictly therapeutic grounds, is a grave offense. Clandestine production of and trafficking in drugs are scandalous practices. They constitute direct co-operation in evil, since they encourage people to practices gravely contrary to the moral law"

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT DRUGS

  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body"
