  • In 1929, William Boeing and Fredrick Rentschler created the United Aircraft and Transport Corporation
  • The Air Mail Scandal of the 30's caused the government to pass the Air Mail Act, and UT&TC was split to become the United Aircraft Corporation
  • In 1974, CEO Harry Grey decided to venture into other feilds of technology, changing the company's name to United Technologies
