PRESENTATION OUTLINE
How Did The Titanic Sink?
A total of 2,208 people sailed on the maiden voyage of the Titanic, the second of the White Star Line's Olympic-class ocean liners, from Southampton, England, to New York City. Partway through the voyage, the ship struck an iceberg and sank in the early morning of 15 April 1912, resulting in the deaths of 1,503 people.
The Dimension:
882 feet 9 inches – the length of the Titanic (269.1 meters).
92 feet 6 inches – the width of the ship at the widest point (28.2 meters).
175 feet – Titanic’s height measured from the top of the funnels to the keel, also referred to as the hull (53.3 meters).
104 feet – Titanic’s height measured from the top of the bridge to the keel (31.2 meters).
9 – the number of decks.
The Titanic hit a Iceberg on the way to New York. It was around 400 miles south away Newfoundland, Canada. Since the front of the boat was hit, the front of the ship flooded so the bow sank and the boat tipped, and took it 2 hours and 40 minutes. The Ship split in half because of the cold water made the ship have a brittle failure.
There were only 706 survivors, and there was about 2,000 people. Sadly there was about 16 life boats. This was under the safety regulations, and this is why there is enough safety boats for every passenger. Tragically rules only change because of accidents
