House bill 2 is a law in North Carolina that makes everyone go to the bathroom of the gender they were born into.

I disagree with this law because transgender people will walk into a bathroom and it will look like someone of the other gender has walked in.

This law could also cause issues because someone could walk into a bathroom and pretend to be transgender. This could lead to kidnapping or worse.

Several events have been cancelled because of this law. The NBA All Star Game, NCAA Championship Games, concerts by Maroon Five and Bruce Springsteen, and many more events have been cancelled or moved because of it (Scott Gleeson, 2016).

In Mississippi they have laws very similar to this and actually had the law first. North Carolina gained more attention because of the events cancelled.

Protests have been held to take away the law and the government should listen.

Just like South Carolina realized their mistake by taking down the confederate flag, North Carolina needs to do the same and remove this law.
