Description

  • They poke their beaks out of the water to breathe.
  • Some grow as long as a tall adult.
  • The largest are 8 feet.

Habitat

  • Sea turtles can live in water and land.
  • The currents helps them swim long distances quickly.
  • During cold winters they live in burrows.

Food

  • They eat grass, leaves, fish, snails and insects.
  • They swim far to find food.

Life Cycle

  • Female lay eggs on land.
  • Some live up to 150 years old.
  • They can lay 100 eggs at a time.

Fun Facts

  • They can hold their breath for four hours.
  • Some can't pull their entire body into their shell.
