• Wanted to separate the races in public plances
• laws created separate rules
• i.e. bus sections, sections of theatre, lunch counters etc.

Segregated Again!

• AA were segregated again.
• Treated unequally and differently
• Little interaction with whites

Undermining the 14th Amendment

• took away "equal protection under the law"
• Supreme Court supported
• Lasted until 1960s
