Native Americans and Weed? Legal or Not?

What Is happening?

• Native American Tribes in Wisconsin are angry that they were refused a casino in Kenosha.
• So the want to grow weed on their tribal lands as per the laws of the nations.
• Native American Tribes don't have to follow American Laws as their are independent nations.

What would occur?

• The Menominee tribe has reported that they will try and alter their constitution as to allow the use of weed on tribal lands agasint the wishes of the State of Wisconsin.
• They would like to grow weed and sell it to legal states/region i.e Washington D.C

What is STOPPING the Tribes?

• "Dependent Domestic Nations"- Chief Justice Marshall
• Only way though could be via air travel as Wisconsin has banned weed. (Note: This would be a federal case as more than one border is crossed.)

State Agendas

How does this relate?

• In AP Gov, we learned about the buracharcy of government and this has a whole lot of it. We also learned about the judical branch which the tribes could be prostucted under.
