RURAL COMMUNITY

A rural community is often made up of farm lands. However, a rural community could be forests, plaines, deserts or prairies.

Many rural areas are agricultural, which means they grow a variety of crops.

In a rural community people live far apart from their neighbors. People usually must drive to places they need to visit, because it is too far to walk.

SUBURBAN COMMUNITY

A suburban community is made up of small neighborhoods, usually just outside of a larger city.

Suburban communities have many natural areas like parks.

SUBURBAN

Homes in suburban communities have one family living in them. Sometimes families live in apartments, but they are not tall buildings. Many people have yards in suburban areas.

URBAN COMMUNITY

Urban communities are large cities. There is not much open space or natural areas. People live close together in a small amount of space. Many people live in tall apartment buildings.

In urban communities people often take the bus, trains, taxis or walk. People will walk to stores and most times to school.
