- In warm shallow waters.
- Usually found by tropical oceans
- Found in shallow waters, because they need sunlight.
- Usually found between 30° north and 30° south latitude.

AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
- Reef-building corals cannot tolerate water temperatures below 64°
- Many grow in water temperatures between 73° and 84° fahernhite
- Some can tolerate temperatures as high as 104° fahernhite for short periods.
