Entry 14 Participle ___
A participle is a verb form used as an adjective. It is one of the three kinds of verbals. An infinitive is a verbal.
e.g. The "exhausted" singers bowed before the "cheering" fans.

A participle phrase is a participle with its modifiers and complements working as an adjective.

If a phrase is too far from the word it modifies it is a misplaced modifier. Fix the prepositional phrase that is a misplaced modifier.
