-A bootlegger was someone who transported alcohol illegally.
-This term was used during the prohibition period because people would smuggle alcohol into the United States.
-The prohibition era gave rise to organized crime.

FLAPPER

-A flapper is a woman who went against society’s expectations.
-They often smoked and drank in public.
-They also had a more revealing style, including short hairstyles and shorter dresses and skirts.

The American Dream is the idea that all American citizens have equal opportunities to achieve success, no matter their background.

F. SCOTT FITZGERALD

Fitzgerald is from St. Paul, Minnesota and was a part of the lower class. He often found it difficult to belong in a group that was in the upper class. He made it his goal to make more money and be more successful than his parents.
